Let me guess.
You’re getting people to your website. Maybe from Instagram, maybe from Google, maybe from word of mouth. They’re landing on your page. But then? Silence. No enquiry form. No booking. Nothing.
You’ve been told to just post more. To show up more consistently. To get more followers. But nobody told you that if your Instagram and your website are giving off completely different messages, dream clients will get confused and ghost you before they ever hit send.
Here’s what’s actually happening.
When potential clients land on your website after following you on Instagram, they’re already forming an opinion about your price point, your level of expertise and whether you’re the right fit. That opinion was built before they even clicked your link.
If they’ve been following someone warm, funny, clearly talented and obviously premium on Instagram and then they land on a website that looks dated, generic or misaligned with that energy — they get confused. They see your prices and they’re surprised. Not in a good way. And confused people don’t book.
You’re actively building their perception of you by how you show up every single day. If they see you as the budget option, it’s because somewhere along the line you’ve subconsciously taught them to.
And here’s the thing: it’s not your fault. You were taught to master your craft — your florals, your photography, your styling, your ceremonies. Nobody handed you a course on brand psychology. Nobody told you that every touchpoint between you and a potential client is either building trust or eroding it.
But now you know. And that means you can fix it.
Before you redesign anything, before you invest in a rebrand, before you touch a single page — do this. Open these three questions and answer them honestly.
This one sounds simple but it catches almost everyone out.
Does your Instagram feel warm, personal, premium and full of personality while your website feels cold, corporate or just… bland? Do they communicate the same price point? The same level of value? The same messaging?
Your Instagram and your website should feel like two chapters of the same book. If someone could look at both and think they belong to different businesses, that’s your leak. That disconnect is what’s making people bounce before they enquire.
Open your website homepage. Now ask yourself honestly: is this leading someone on a journey, or is it just an endless gallery and giant blocks of text?
Your website needs to take a visitor from “I just found this person” to “I need to book her” without them having to do any of the work themselves. What should they do when they land on your page? Should they enquire through a form? Book a free discovery call? Purchase directly through a shop?
They shouldn’t be guessing. It should be completely obvious. If your call to action is buried, if your enquiry button is hard to find, if there’s no clear next step — you are losing clients at the most critical moment.
People don’t follow unclear instructions. They just leave.
This one is where so many wedding vendors lose people who were already sold on them from Instagram.
They love your vibe. They’ve been watching your stories for weeks. They feel like they know you. Then they click through to your website and suddenly all they see is a cold, corporate list of packages with no personality, no connection and no emotion.
The warmth disappears. The you disappears. And with it, so does the enquiry.
Your website copy should sound like you actually wrote it. It should have your voice, your quirks, your way of seeing things. Not corporate filler. Not AI-generated nothing. You.
Here’s what I’ve seen happen when wedding vendors fix the misalignment between their Instagram presence and their website:
One client redesigned her sales page to position her as the clear expert in her space — and booked her first corporate job without a single sales call. The website did the convincing before she even had to show up.
Another client launched a new website with messaging that finally matched the calibre of her work, and woke up to 10 new leads the next morning.
Another client doubled her monthly enquiries after we fixed the gaps between how she was showing up on Instagram and what her website was communicating.
These aren’t flukes. They’re what happens when you stop letting a misaligned website work against you.
How your clients perceive you is not an accident. It’s the result of every touchpoint they’ve had with your brand — your Instagram posts, your stories, your website, the way you communicate over email. All of it builds a picture. All of it is saying something.
The good news is that you are in complete control of what that picture looks like. And if it’s not bringing in the enquiries you know your work deserves, you can change it.
Start with the three questions above. Be honest. And if you’re not sure what’s leaking — that’s exactly what the free website audit is for.
